How do I track results?
Every website has a goal for their visitors. For instance, you may want visitors to make a purchase, request more information, or to contact you. It's called a "conversion" when someone takes one of these actions.
AdWords has a built-in feature to track conversions resulting from AdWords which lets you see how many total conversions in your campaigns, which keywords and ads generated the conversion, and how much each of those conversions cost. This is the "bottom-line" for monitoring AdWords and plays a critical role in optimizing your campaigns.
The importance of proper tracking cannot be over-emphasized. You must know what advertising methods are generating positive results and which aren't. Then you can adjust your strategies to focus on those avenues which are working for your business.
