It’s very important to have a solid overall strategy figured out prior to beginning any work. We’ll discuss your business and goals with you and come up with a specific strategy for our work. We’ll determine what marketing messages / unique selling points we’ll highlight, the budget we have to work with, geographical areas you want your ads to show in, and which AdWords techniques we’ll employ for your campaigns. This strategy will form the basis of our approach to using AdWords to grow your business.
AdWords can only “lead the horse to water”, it’s your website that has to move them from visitor to prospect. We’ll look to see how well you’ve implemented a strong call-to-action, how well you engage you visitors, how easy your site is to get around, how clear and persuasive your content is, how you capture email addresses for your email list (you have one right?), and more. The quality of your website is a big factor in how well AdWords work and we’ll help make sure you have a solid system in place. We can also build a sharp new website for you if needed.
Google provides us tools to compile a huge list of keywords that people are actually using to find your services, and which of those gets searched the most often. We’ll then ‘scrub’ the list to boil it down to the keywords that are most likely to produce strong returns for your business. From this list, we will decide which keywords to target and put together a structure of campaigns, groups and ads based around those keywords.
Once we have a solid keyword plan and overall strategy, then we can begin putting the actual campaigns together. The idea is to create many groups that each contain only a few, highly related keywords. This allows us to show ads that are very specific to what the visitor is specifically searching for. This laser targeting helps to keep your Quality Scores high and Clickthrough Rates low, resulting in the lowest cost-per-click’s possible.
The single most important thing to do in order to optimize your AdWords results is test, test, and test. But, without an accurate tracking system, we’ll never know which keywords and ads are producing the best results, and which are just wasting money. By implementing an appropriate tracking system (provided free by Google) then we can track real-world results back to the specific campaign, group, keyword and ad that generated that particular lead. This is an absolute MUST for working us – we can’t do our job with it!
The single most important thing to do in order to optimize your AdWords results is test, test, and test (it’s worth repeating). With proper tracking, we can determine the all important Cost Per Conversion, or the average amount of advertising money you are spending to get each lead. So if you spent $50 and got 2 leads, your Cost Per Conversion would be $25/each. We can see this number specific to every campaign, group, keyword and ad, so we can make adjustments to squeeze all the leads possible from your budget.
Results can vary widely depending on a huge number of factors, such as your business, marketing approach, website quality, geographical area, and demand for your services. Typically however, we generally see clients getting new online leads at $15-35 in ad spend once their campaigns are well optimized, not to mention the increased phone contacts you’ll also get. Some campaigns in highly competitive fields and areas can run up to $100 per lead, such as a lawyer in New York city.

We don’t believe in long-term contracts or pricing our services on how much you spend in AdWords (which encourages the manager to spend more of your money whether it makes sense or not). We have a pretty simple, straight forward pricing. Specializing only in service businesses means most of our clients needs are about the same, letting us keep it simple. These campaigns aren’t overly complicated either, so you’ll find us much cheaper than our major competitors.
Our fee is a $750 set-up fee to conceive and create the campaigns, and $750/month to manage your account including split-testing new ads, testing new keywords, making bid adjustments, etc. All of our work is based on a hourly rate of $75, so the initial set-up includes 10 hours professional time and 10 hours professional time per month. More in-depth, aggressive or complicated campaigns can take longer and any additional time used will be billed at that rate (approved by you first of course).
We believe in treating our clients right and providing a lot of value – that tends to keep clients around! While we don’t require a long-term contract, we suggest you commit to at least 90 days of management. It takes awhile for us to find out what is working and what isn’t and to start producing solid month after month results.
Also, we find that your campaigns will generally need less monthly management once they are well optimized. You can elect at anytime to go to a straight hourly rate (via 10 hour blocks of professional time) and just have us check in on your campaigns occasionally or as needed. We don’t know of any other AdWords professionals that will tell you this, but we aren’t like the others :)

If it needs done, we can do it. These services are available via 10 hour blocks of professional time for $750. We also design Image Ads (Banner Ads) in all standard sizes for $300.
